To answer the first question Iron Man has led The Avengers before. He lead the team in the earliest Avenger comics before Cap was brought in by fan requests. He has also led on other occasions when Cap has had problems with SHIELD. To answer the second, Whedon is a noted comic book expert, he's written for Marvel. He lives in a whole world of comics, he's a versatile writer. They gave it to a fanboy who knows the business and can shoot for peanuts. He works for Marvel/Disney's criteria.

@MrCure4 that there is the problem. DO NOT give it to a "fanboy". Give it to a writer/director who ain't a fanboy but can do something CREATIVE, IMAGINATIVE and INTERESTING with the project. That trailer was EXACTLY how i thought it would turn out in this generic age.

im not fully convinced that this film will be really gd, but you have to remember that this is a teaser trailer. u cant fairly judge the film based on this. we dont know how much of a part each character will play etc

Lol you know you just spent eleven and a half minutes reviewing a movie that is still in production and won't be out for another 7 months based off of a 2 minute teaser trailer right?.....That is all.

I am 100% excited for this movie. But I did enjoy this video because he took a more realistic view of the movie than the other reactions I watched..and this video had me laughing from start to finish. but I do agree that Cap should be the primary focus. We all seen Tony Starks actions in Iron Man 2, he's not fit to lead a team. Cap is a natrual leader.

You can hate him all you want, but Whedon and his writing is the only reason why I will watch this movie. Actually line spoken by Stark reminiscing witty dialogues written by Whedon in the past. Rest of the trailer was meeeh - typical stupid summer movie, yes it looked like Bayformers. Idea of filming "Avengers" was crazy from the start. And I agree fanboys will accept anything - no matter good or bad

One more thing, why NOT make an Avengers film? It should at least be worth trying to do instead of keeping it on the shelf forever. Yes, its a tricky project but it should be given a shot at. As a comic fan and a movie lover I want to see these guys work together on screen, I want a shared universe.

Loki is the villain yes, but he's having help, supposedly from either Thanos or the Skrulls in promise to give them an item from Odin's vault.
