Here is a free amateur instructional video on how to play this Jimmy Page instrumental. I am a guitar and video hobbyist, so there are more than a few mistakes -- this is intended more for the beginner to intermediate player to help learn the basic song structure. Thanks and credit goes to the programmers of NeckDiagrams for the inset fretboard images.

  • Ignore my previous comment, i managed to tune it and learned it, dude, this was the BEST lesson ive ever seen, soo damn easy to understand.

  • @PSPbrtag Thanks!! I'm so slack about watchin my youtube mail, so sorry about missing the tuning UP question on the B string. B to C is a half step, which on most standard gauge/strung acoustics is no worries on breakage. (think bends, where depending on your string gauge/stepup you'll be mirroring that tension increase just by pushing the string sideways)

  • great video the tabs in top right were perfect i got this tune down quick i didn ever think i could play this. Thank you so much for sharing.

  • @mcmedley789 Hey thanks for the nice words (and that also goes for everyone I haven't replied to in the past 5 months, I'm pretty lame at monitoring my email alerts :)!! I really appreciate it, and hope to have some new tunes out here soon, done in the same style. Thanks again - I'm glad you found it helpful.

  • What is the picking pattern? Everyone loves to concentrate on the slide and totally neglects the picking pattern!

  • @FlashingFountain On the slide part I try to emphasize and start with the Thumb on the 6th string, and then Index-Middle-Fourth over the 4th, 3rd, and 2nd strings. You'll do that pattern twice, sliding from 3-5th fret and then 5-7th fret. The small pattern in between the two times through those sliding patterns is as follows: with 5th string fretted at 3rd fret, Thumb (5th), Index (4th), Middle (3rd), Fourth (1st), Middle (2nd), Index (3rd), Middle (2nd).

Thanks for the response! Im keeping my acoustic tuned on Open C, damn great tune, you can play a lot of things that are sure to impress, all thanks to you! Seriously, thanks soo much for this lesson!

  • thank you so very much!

  • Are you sure sure about C-A-C-G-C-E ??? Im DAMN sure ill break my B if i tune it to C, or im doing it wrong?

  • Wrong wrong wrong.... Not only are many of the notes you're playing incorrect, your picking pattern is way way way off...
