The astonishing, bizarre and enchanting sounds of Liverpool band The Wild Swans. Please see below frontman Paul Simpson's notes on the song. Taken from the compilation album, 'INCANDESCENT' (1982). LISTEN LOUD.

Paul Simpson - vocals & guitar. Jeremy Kelly - guitars. Gerard Quinn - keyboards. Phill Lucking - bass. Alan Wills - drums.

"This was originally called 'Blessed Thing' and was written at our very first rehearsal - before the group was even christened. I thought dressing like a member of the Baader-Meinhof gang was statement enough and refused to even sing a note for the first few months of the bands existence. I'd just hover over the microphone, stand looking haunted or bashing a tambourine while Ged busked Albinoni and Vaughan Williams on his keyboard. Guitarist Jeremy Kelly's arrival took us into a different league with his unique playing. Fast, warm and beautiful at a time when the fashion was for cold, jagged and angular playing - he wasn't coming from blues roots at all but mixed up classical. Spanish and punk styles, even throwing in obscure jazz chords. But whatever he played was always totally gorgeous and usually played at 1000mph. The millisecond-long feedback in the middle eight and droning guitar chord at the close are among my favourite Wild Swan moments." - Paul Simpson.
