Part 5 of 6. In 1995, PBS (& Hugh Thompson & Robert Palmer, the critic not the musician) produced a comprehensive series on the history of rock and roll. While there were other documentaries produced at that time with the same name, this one is superior & harder to find. In this, part 7 of the series, the filmmakers examine the impact of Andy Warhol & the Velvet Underground on The Doors, Iggy Pop, David Bowie and Alice Cooper. They describe how glam became more theatrical, leading to bands like Kiss. The scenes with the fans are priceless...!
Sorry again for the video quality. These videos were watched a lot!
@michbeck88 maybe a late reaction, but I don't think the black SS and brown SA uniforms are something to be proud of

I never liked KISS, they are so plastic, so would be. I could never take them serious, sorry, but they never were on my list. Bowie is great, Alice Cooper has some nice songs, Emmerson Lake and Palmer rock, there are and have been so many great bands and musicians, why take this stupid Kiss??

For me as a German, it's so great to hear that someone like Iggy Pop has always been fascinated about us...
