WTF???????????? Do you not think that firstly you should come off that shit before you start bringing anymore innocent children into the world to suffer that pain at birth because of your selfish ways???? people like you make me sick, for the first time tonight i witnessed a new born child suffering withdrawal from methadone and to watch it brought me to my knees in absolute tears. You made the choice to become addicted to opiots and now giving innocent children no choice if they become addicted

@EveryKarmaHasAStory wasnt my choice contraception doesnt work i was on the pill and fell pregnant and dont believe in abortion so i had my baby, got down to 40mls and hes was fine and went thru nothing so mind your own business...hes now a happy little boy whos 1 next week

In America they are already talking about sterilising Drug addicts who are really bad,because the amouunt of children in foster homes,because of drug addict parents or addicts in general,is at boiling point,drug addicts loose all dignity,and many of them have multiple partners who are also drug addicts,thats why it is out of control,they are already talking about it in Ireland,it was spoken about on the radio two months ago.since they cant fight drug crime,they will certainly sterilise them.

Very well said. I have seen little babies being weaned off that crap in a hospital I worked in a few years ago and it broke my heart. I have two children of my own and I would never do anything to put them in harms way or cause them pain and discomfort. It's selfish people that take these drugs that cause those poor little souls such pain. Personally I think that people that are addicted to drugs and show no positive signs of quitting should get the snip.. nobody wants an addict as a parent.

@loubyloujude Also I feel terrible for these babies, absolutely terrible, but instead of passing judgment how bout some kindness and understanding. It is a catch 22 for the mother. Stop and lose the baby or continue and watch your child suffer. I am sure they dont want either..think on that before you open your mouth and judge

@loubyloujude so you understand that if a mother has a opiate habit before she gets pregnant, after she becomes pregnant she cannot just stop or she can miscarry. Sometimes these mothers do not know they are pregnant for a month or so after conception so then stopping immed. is very dangerous to both mother and child. you know it must be so nice to know your so perfect that you can point out the shortcomings of others. I am sure these mothers feel terrible, but they have a sickness as well.

im on a methadone programme, im stable on it, when i had my daughter she had no withdrawals, last year having my son, he went into withdrawal when he was 14 days and had to go onto oramorph, he was on it for 3 weeks and recovered quickly, i was on 90 mls of methadone. im now 22 weeks with my 4th baby and im on 50 mls but am terrified it will happen again but am too scared to reduce anymore as my doctor says it could harm the unborn baby, any advice on how i could start to reduce??
