I love personally the live version of Pat Metheny on a classical guitar. It inspired me and I play it on my Taylor 314CE but normally I play it on a NS64 or NS74 Taylor guitar

  • Franck your renditions of metheny are the best!!!! As a guitar player myself, I was wondering if you could give me some tips on how you learn them, Do you listen to the song, over and over, or do you slow them down using a transcription device, either way your great, and I enjoy your music.

  • @qq1zz1pp1 Thanks for your comment! Tips... The best tools are my ear and my heart! I don't use transcription device! In general, the principle is very simple: One finger for the melody, one finger for the bass line and free fingers for the harmony. Later, you need to do some compromises and tastes choices. it's correct that sometimes, to find the closer coulour, I need to listen over and over some passages! Hope it will help you!

  • @qq1zz1pp1 @qq1zz1pp1 Hey! I did a transcription of Metheny's live version of this song years ago. You'll find my version of it in powertab-format on ultimate-guitar.

Great playing franckph, by the way!

  • Thanks for such a piece of heaven

  • Tuning gotta be normal then, i know he uses some weirdo tuning atleast on some pieces.

Would love to see more such pieces from him by the way ( played by you ).

  • Thank you for your comment. Sincerly, I don't know if PM uses a normal tuning or not... I can give you an answer for myself... I use a regular tuning

  • I'm loving this!!!! I play piano and keyboards myself so Lyle is huge influence but i wanted to ask if Pat uses normal tuning in this piece or does it have any wacky tunings for guitar?
