You are NOT suppose to stand the brush on the base because the water will drip down to the beginning of the bristles, and will rot them. I just bought the full-sized kit, the razor, and the stand for my boyfriend and that is what I was told by a consultant.

The smell goes away. Borax works. Badger are NOT killed for their hair, they are killed because they have infested places like China and are considered pests. If it still bothers you, buy a synthetic brush or horse hair brush. Nice video but not very accurate. Check out Mantic59 or Geofatboy for some real, accurate info. on wet shaving

These are good products, however, I would never buy a badger hair brush as they are killed merely for their hair and it's cruel.
