CD AVAILABLE: http://www.rivermontrecords.com/2213.html "Handful of Keys" is an old stride warhorse from the late 1920s by the great Thomas "Fats" Waller. This was recorded pretty informally at home - I hope you enjoy!
A great interpretation. Max approached this piece of Fats in a way a great pianist would approach a piece by Chopin. Great phrasing, dynamics, everything. Brilliant.
Hi Max. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting you at the 2010 West Coast Ragtime Festival, and witnessing in person (and in awe) your remarkable talents. I have really been enjoying your Keenlystride CD ever since. Thanks for sharing this wonderfully intimate look at your playing. You are a real inspiration to us everyday amateurs. How DO you make it look so easy?! lol

Wow, that's informal? Absolutely fantastic!
When you play that, are you thinking about one hand more than the other? Or do they both just know what they're doing? xD
