On September 27, 2009, the Akron Railroad Club "floater" took place in the rural metropolis of Wellington, OH. Here, the CSX Greenwich Subdivision crosses at grade with Wheeling & Lake Erie's Hartland Sub. All of the train action can be seen from atop the city's reservoir, making for some interesting photographic venues. Enjoy!

  • Kickass on the Rio Grande tunnel motor!

  • Yep! That is one of two that the Wheeling & Lake Erie owns.

  • Wow!

Visually stunning and at times arousing!

    Fall up in Ohio.. Wow!

  • Yep! Ohio falls are always nice! NS and CSX locomotives look good in the fall foliage too!

  • Great video! (This comment includes part one) I need to go with you sometime, so I can experience some REAL rail-fanning. By the way, have you watched my finished Wolf's Rain video yet? It's been up for a couple of weeks.

  • Sounds great Aaron! We'll just need to pick a time and place. And as for your videos - I have seen them all! Keep up the great work.

  • Great video! 5* Rich

  • Thanks for the compliment! With traffic being up since the Conrail days, you'd be certain to have an interesting "camp out" while trackside.

  • nice video

  • Wellington is always a nice place to watch trains. I was down there a couple weeks ago for the tractor show and traffic was pretty good, including three on the Wandle.

I've actually camped out on the other side of the fence from that signal bridge, but that was in the pre-merger days when traffic wasn't as heavy. I'd love to do it again sometime!
