Climate researchers have long understood that human induced changes to Earth's atmosphere should impact climate in the polar regions earlier and more dramatically than in most other places. Explore the unique meteorology, oceanography, and ecology of both the Arctic and Antarctic with Dr. Dan Lubin as he describes observations that indicate unmistakable signs of anthropogenic climate change in both the Arctic and Antarctic. Series: "Perspectives on Ocean Science" [10/2007] [Science] [Show ID: 13039]

  • "No scientists were suggesting imminent ice age in 70's."

No it was a group of environuts posing as "climate Experts" that made a 15 minute movie viewable in theathers and in 3 magazines

In the 70's there was only 3 t.v. stations (if you could even catch that),the reels in the theater, and monthly and weekly maazines

They would probably have been as succesful as the "AGW" bullshit..if they had the Internet&global media speding stupidty around the world every 20 minutes after AL Gore's IT

  • "125,000 years ago a +2C rise in global temps. correlated with a 6-9 meter (25ft) rise in sea levels"

Not e125,000 years before the Industial age the "Earth AGT rose +2f degrees" all by itself as humans were still little mamally things

And if it "warmed" it got "cold" againg all by itself without human intervention or UN taxes before humans came out of the trees, walked erect, then created civilization in the 10,000 years of AGT 15c stability

p.s. +2f Water would expand some without melt

  • No scientists were suggesting imminent ice age in 70's. The so called Little Ice Age (which started in 16th century, not 1300's) ended in the beginning of 19th century, almost two hundred years ago.

  • cities are destroyed including the capital city Brisbane is under flooding. flooding expected to rise up to 29metres or more. that is higher than the Boxing Day tsunami that happened years ago in Thailand which affected and destoyed a few countries. and wedidn't even get a cyclone or anything like that. and tsunami-style flooding happened in this town up in the mountain...unbeievable!

  • watch the news about Australia, 75% of Queensland state is inundated wth massive catastrophic flooding! those who are not familiar with Australia. Queensland state is the sizeof the whole of Europe and most of it at this very moment is under water. with massive flooding.

  • well, it is now 2011and it certainly is happening. massive flooding in Australia and all over the world is happening. Ilive in Australia and right at this moment we are experiencing the worst and unexpected flooding like in some horrible sci-fi future apocalyptic movie you see on tv. it's not a joke.

  • The Earth has been cycling between warming and cooling since bacteria started reproducing on this planet. These same scientists that are NOW saying global warming said it was global cooling in the 70's and were predicting we would have a glacier ice sheet down to the Dakotas by the year 2000. We have barely gotten out of the little Ice Age that started in the 1300's. This is all a mute point, Mans effect on the planet is like two fleas on a dog arguing over who gets to steer.

Are you trying to funny or just ridiculous?

Magnetism has nothing to do with GHG.

Pollution is not GHG, but particulates.

  • You question makes no sense.

Why would the polar ice melt?

Each pole is far below freezing temp.

The magnetism doesn't affect CO2 either.

You must be getting mixed up with magic.

Questions are good though, ask an adult when unsure.

Keep learning & finish middle school.

  • guillermija i have a question, when earths magnetic field flips all the ice will melt right, cause south would be north and north,oh and its just cause of earths magnetic fields its also cause 2 much C2o, plus green house warming.
