Carlin was never cruel to fat people. He was a compassionate, intelligent man who used his anger in a positive way to both entertain & educate. He spent his life trying to inspire others to embrace reality & make American's want to live up to their ideals. He is greatly missed.

The way I control my body is a character trait that permeates all aspects of my life, not just one area. If I made excuses for people (like you do), then I would excuse away my character flaws as something out of my control. A cop out.
