Do you believe this can affect people when it comes to Government, Culture and big Business? Ive noticed that people who conform to groupthink or blindly obey the Government, corporations, and cultural norms have the same kind of personality of excessive conformity, conventions, along with an intolerance of others.

I just recently finished reading "Conservatives Without Conscience" and this book hits the nail on the head. I am glad he led me to Bob Atlemeyer so I can now read his book as well.

I was aware of Altemeyer's book for a while, but I just started to reading it in detail. It's very good. He has some helpful analysis of Lakoff's Moral Politics, another book I'd recommend. I'm glad you pointed out about the distinction b/t rightwing authoritarianism & rightwing ideology, although there is an obvious correlation between the two in at least the US.

and i beleive your skin colour does not mean shit you must and will be treated like everyone else be it race age gender or religion or job

Do you think authoritarianism has some kind of connection to christianity or judaism or islam? They call seem to be very conservative and very authoritarian (they only have one god and that god is god). I grew up as a christian fundamnetalist and most of my family members are still christians. I don't feel the same way anymore, but I still feel brief pangs of guilt when I do things that previously would be considered a sin.

I think that certain religions or ideologies tend to attract authoritarian personality types. The thing these have in common seems to be an 'us and them' division of the world, a strict set of guidelines that are not to be questioned, and rewarding blind adherence to dogmatism.

Thanks. I look forward to seeing that. I seriously believe his research is so important. Since this vid I have gotten several of his other books and papers and am still in awe.
