Not really a trip; more like pushing the opponent over the knee or thigh.

Not a strike. But could be a slap to the face or raking across the eyes if required. Usually no strike.

this technique is a close in technique, if you fight with someone who is ok in groundwork, or grappling or shuai jiao, it could be very dangerous, as they prefer the close range of attack.
