Teaadora Nikolova and Lana Voronina "The Day Teaadora Nikolova & Lana Voronina Met" (2011)

This night Lana Voronina and I met. We had great love and harmony with each other, it easily came about in the improvisational performance we crafted at Lana's performance space in Oakland, California called The Zoo. She invited me to play at her space. She had heard my music through the grapevine, and our friend Russ Butler connected us. We were all brought together by at one point living in Boston. We didn't plan to play before we met this night. Lana and I were suppose to play this show but she decided against playing until I encouraged her to open the show.. Our ability to connect on a personal level led us to explore communicating through a musical language. That night we performed for the first time, she performed her electronic noise/dance project. Lana played as Granny Zebra and Teaadora sang on her tracks. When the night ended, everyone had left The Zoo, we played two acoustic guitars together in a corner. Scott Steele recorded the songs, which we might of played together for an hour. The recording above is an excerpt. The video is from the day after. I think we are now friends for life. When you commit to improvisational music trust is a huge factor, we were able to trust each other and move through the differences in approach to create our synthesis. This is a great example of find harmony through our trust, since we did find harmony. We are always making memories, I was lucky enough to be conscious of this diamond of a day, our wonder was like the boundlessness of the ocean, this was our ship of love. I hope you can open a door to this type of memory.
