Chris Cognetti, Musical Instrument Associate from New York City, has been a bass player for 13 years, opened for George Clinton, and studied music business at Berklee College of Music. He loves the Schecter Omen Extreme 5-string electric bass because he can play more notes without much movement, and the tight string spacing helps him play fast. He pairs it with the Ampeg BA115 combo for its compact size and ability to adapt for any sound he wants or gig he plays.

  • Best video I can find for this bass. I am planning on getting the same bass but in the 4 string and I have the BA112 so it would sound similar to this

  • @Rocket1771 They're a lot better than people give them credit for. I've been impressed by the few that I've played.

  • very. i mean, i have yet to find one schecter product to disappoint me.

  • @FlySpleen Thanx man i appreciate your answer....

  • @m3xxikan It's used to power an active circuit for the pick-ups, ultimately it gives a different tone.

Most pick-ups are passive, not needing a battery to power the circuit.

  • does anybody know what is the battery on the back for?

  • I'm buying one of those in $285 pls tax... it's around 300 even.... is it Worth it???

  • Getting this baby tomorrow at the Best Buy near me :) It's worth around $650, they're selling it for $400. So stoked! And I like this guy. He knows what he's talking about, he's got 13 years of musical experience, he explains things well, and he knows how to play the damn instrument.
