This is the 30-minute version of the 12-minute video: "Beware of Con-Cons: State Legislators Warn Against a Constitutional Convention." In this video Oklahoma State Representatives Charles Key and Dr. Mike Ritze, and State Senator Randy Brogdon warn their fellow state legislators in all 50 states against passing resolutions calling for an Article V amendments convention, commonly referred to as a constitutional convention (Con-Con). They also strongly recommend that state legislators in the 34 states that have not rescinded all previous Con-Con calls, work to pass a Con-Con rescission resolution this year. Here is the list of the 16 states that have rescinded their existing Con-Con calls: Ala., Ariz., Ga., Idaho, La., Mont., N.D., N.H., Okla., Ore., S.C., S.D., Tenn., Va., Utah, and Wy. • @cmblake6 A Con-Con wouldn't restore the original Constitution, it would rewrite the original Constitution. That's the point. If by some miracle modern politicians came up with a new Constitution that didn't expand their power, it wouldn't enforce itself any more than our current one does. The people must be informed to enforce the Constitution.

  • What about a Con-Con to restore the original Constitution? Simply to dismantle those things which are outside the original intent?

  • “The historical record shows state legislators, members of Congress and presidents all shared a common understanding of an Article V convention and the important ground rules that govern the process,” said Nick Dranias, the Goldwater Institute’s constitutional scholar. “Recent worries that no one has any idea how to call a convention, or that the states can’t control what the delegates would discuss, are simply groundless.”

  • THANK YOU, Gentlemen. IF a Con-Con (much less another Amendment) is called for, I hope that my fine Republic of Oklahoma will ask for recall, from that process. A Con-Con is nothing short of a Grand Jury of the States, a finality of law and not one that can be controlled now by the common man, with the common law, as it should be. I will stand with my Reps./Senators on my/our right to Recall, Sine Die, if need be, and declare a Recall as well.
