Secret Ravine is a salmon habitat in Loomis, at least according to the signs. This is the first time I have ever been lucky enough to see any. This is in late October. I presume it is spawning season. Doing a little research I think these may be Chinook salmon. They were around 2 feet long. There were a couple of others that avoided the camera. A friend told me they are spawning and that the flapping around you see is intended to stir up the gravel stream bed.
