if you over water while you have just fertilized you will create whats called brown patch which is a fungal disease...i killed off mine on a fescue lawn by stopping the watering and cutting a little bit short so the sun dries the moisture out...but for the bentgrass i think letting it grow a little taller would help.

Thanks for the great advice !!! I cut back watering to once a day in the early morning. The Temp here is around 95-100.
