After a long 9 months apart, Emmitt Thunderpaws is REALLY HAPPY to see his favorite person again! He smelled him in the house and then ran outside to greet him. We've taught Emmitt never to jump on anyone and we don't let him stand on our shoulders because it's bad for his hips, so this is quite out of character for him. He almost seems like he's in shock as he's not crying, barking, or even licking! Just holding onto Trevor and staring him in the eyes as if he can't believe he's back. Dogs are awesome :)

I got into some trouble, ended up in jail for a month. Got out on house arrest , lost my house & ALL my stuff. I was terrified that my cat was alone and died. It WAS a wild cat before I got him. 6 months later I'd completely given up. I'd asked my mom to go back to my old house and there he was in the bush, she caught him. He jumped up and down, acted like a kitten. SLAMMED his head into mine, purred louder than ever, & wouldn't stop kissing my face :D rolling at my feet, rubbing my knees.

There's no point comparing a solitary hunter with a pack hunter. Their mentality is so different, and their behaviour is so different because of their instincts. Cat's do show affection, in a much calmer laid back fashion, which in my opinion is far better than a dog leaping and jumping at your face.
