Govt hides 1962 Sino-Indo war report

Why,did the Indian army take a beating at the hands of the Chinese in the 1962 war? What are the contents of the Transfer of Power documents of 1947? We don't really know. Because, for a model democracy, India has always been a very secret-obsessed nation.

Stubborn Nehru didn't listen to the warnings from the Army or Intelligence reports about the Chinese Army build up in the border.... (infact he reduced the Army & did not allow any infrastructure to be crated along the borders that wud facilitate the movement of troops or materials).

Indians please don't be obsessed with China. We Chinese have a saying, "to influence the outside you must settle the inside first". We do not perceive India as our enemies right now, nor a credible threat. You guys have more important problems to solve, and it would be smart for you to attend to those first. Blaming Nehru for a general defeat is escapism. Nehru's policies were not generally bad. They did a great deal of good and it would be best to work upon some of them today.

Adopting western methods before adequately improving the lives of the rural poor is why India is so behind China today. How can anyone expect a population that is 61% literate to challenge one that is 95% literate? One where 487 million out of 1.2 billion work and one where 815 million out of 1.3 billion work?
