This video shows you how to remove damaged mortar and apply new mortar to joints. Sakrete Type S High Strength Mortar/Stucco Mix is suited for replacing existing mortar joints in brick or block walls.
this is an unrealistic way of doing it in the real world. The new type S mortar has more sand than ever now, tiny rocks that will clog up the grout bag.
well pointing trowel will be more sloppy..but also handy to follow up with..bag is good if you know how to size it for the job..
btw.. they say only use a hose to wash out your tucks after you cut it with a ... POWER CUTTER ... maybe a power washer or water pressured tool will be too strong..É É ..dont get that logic.
To keep it clean I put sticky tape on each side and push the mortar in with a flat trowel pushing upwards. One go operation and you can push it in much further.
I had to repair every joint in a wall like this without having a clue about how to do it :-)
sorry but from a bricklayers perspective this is prob the worst way to point a joint like that , grab a slicker and a pointing trowel and some stiff morta its r faster cleaner and the slicker compacts the mortar so there are no voids behind it.
Leave it to the professionals mate, go back & sit behind your desk because you've obviously not done that for a while

larger hole in the tip of the bag makes it go faster.
