  • I am also building a replica. I have lenses which are identical to Galileo's (the focal points, not the quality). The magnification is very interesting although the field of view is VERY small. It's like looking through a straw. You will definately need a sturdy tripod for this telescope. Soon I will have lenses made of soft glass with many tiny air bubbles, just like the original lenses. I can't wait to give them a try ! ;-)
