You are not the first person to see seemingly racist undertones in this cartoon, but you were by far the most civil in pointing them out. Let me assure you that we did not intend this cartoon to seem racist. On the contrary, we are addressing (not advocating) the racist undertones of the drug-war. Keep in mind, this whole cartoon is allegorical. Our alien-mexicans were created to POKE FUN at the dehumanizing "alien" term used on Mexicans and Mexican-Americans, not to endorse it.

@ilike2rockradio Basically, We record video of the actor's mouths along with the dialogue and then slap the mouths onto the cartoon characters. We set the heads to motion track to the nose of the actors so that the characters move in a realistic way as they speak. The animation itself is done using (extensively) the Puppet Pin Tool in After Effects. The fully 3D parts, like the Prison Planet and the Galactic Flag were created using Blender.

The Federal Gatacti Government had the outcome fixed way before the Astrolection, I think the PSA was just a courtesy to all of us. Either way, this loss only means that they're getting closer to fully decriminalizing the mota. The vote lost 29% to 121% in 3072 but now, in 4010, it was more like 56% to 94%. Progress, my friends, slow...patient...aggravating progress.
