One problem I do see is that you need to know what an individual's exercise response was before they became ill. In some cases, you may have this data.

You may have an ME sufferer who is naturally an outstanding athlete who might perform averagely after becoming sick - they might be judged OK. I think Snell actualkly covers this and talks about deconditioning as well.

It's complex, but with common sense, there's a way though it.

Only different if they have different definitions.

    Your post is very confusing.

Could dyou have a rethink, watch the video, think again, then state your point as clearly as possible, please?

    I haven't a clue what you're trying to say.

So much to learn from this, thank you whoever posted it!

Now to find someone who could help me to make use of this knowledge, to gain some daily function back in my life.

I so much appreciate the empirical approach of all these years of research.

Sorry, prof, but there is scientific evidence that ME and CFS are different. A scientist has to go on the eevidence, not keep assuming. ME is not about fatigue but more about muscle weakness after minimal exertion. CFS is characterised by fatigue and four common symptoms. Why won't you consider the views of colleagues with a different view?

    4:57 " … normal *sedentary* control subject … "

So please note that the problem in CFS is *not* that the people are sedentary.

"I originally came out of exercise and sports science.

So to come up on a population were exercise did not seem to cure everything that was wrong with them, was antithetical to my beliefs at that time."
