@Weebs95 or, you could just stop thinking about what people thought altogether. one of the best things about skateboarding is that while you may have many douchebags trying to make it as famous as the donkey-ass team sports we all know and hate, it's still YOUR thing when you're doing it. I can't even skate anymore (bad knees) but it's still something I do, defined by me, as I do it. No dickhead teammates, no coach... so why worry?

That last comment makes me cringe, What difference is there from a 40 year old man playing beer league hockey, and a 40 year old man at the skatepark? There is none. I am 15, and my parents think I'm too old for skating. People need to wrap there heads around the fact that skateboarding isn't some rebellious, anti-mainstream childish toy, It's a sport, and skateboarders are athletes. They may have more fun than the average professional athlete, but they're every bit as talented.

Man I remember watching this while skating at the park I was that little curly headed kid who went there like everyday but I moved to the coast :(
