That's funny. On December 6th, 1980, John told BBC Radio that he felt like he could go anywhere on the streets of New York and feel safe. He also thanked the fans for helping him stay in America on his last album.

Oh yeah, must give Spector his due. Gigs booked, contracts signed, TV shows, money & success, being inspired by US Rock'nRoll, promoting their first film A Hard Day's Night, etc.. were all to no avail: only Spector managed to persuade The Beatles to go to the States; he probably had to point a gun at them too! And only to realize to his horror that they were a musical threat to him! This genius could have never imagined that in his wildest dreams!
