Chet plays this (both versions) in the key of B Major. Odd, but true

    Don McInnis

  • @vx44668 That is a most unusual key for guitar!

  • Please post his song Teensville.. RWB

  • Will try to get to it real soon.

  • I'll try to get that second version on soon..it was unreleased. I believe Chet didn't feel it made the grade, but when I post, you can decide for yourself.

I think you'll see that Chet was a perfectionist and always wanted it to be GREAT before he released it. all the Chet records i have, (and I have nearly every one), it stands out to me that the quality of his released cuts were always high.

And for that we are all grateful. Thanks Chet!

  • Debuted on the Billboard pop chart on Sept 28, 1959, peaked at #49 & charted for 8 weeks.

  • That's more than likely where the song got its name.

  • Chet also uses B Major for "To B or Not to B" with Tomy Emmanuel from the album "The Day Finger Pickers Took Over the World".

  • My Dad loves this song, he's 71 now and his legs and feet still gig to it,

  • it was not an early version of a wah-wah, it was another device

  • wah wah q el mismo construyó

  • It's been said he used an early wah wah type device on this recording.

  • Seems like drums and bass play a major part in this song, so in all fairness Bob Moore is playing bass, and Buddy Harman is doing drums/rhythm. Doing th song was Anita Kerr's idea and they took a bunch of mailing tubes, stuck them together & tuned them to different pitches. The drums were set up in a way that Buddy Harman could jump off the drums and start banging those tubes on the floor.
