This video sends shivers down my spine... It's really moving, because with Kaiser Franz Joseph a generation and an era has died, along with all the moral values which were comprised all over Europe by the 'Victorian life'. Things have never been the same ever since and I'm affraid they will never be. I hate that I was born too late!

@TruthNotMedia Evidently It is not a islamic dress but a mourning one, used only for funerals and it is not required by christian doctrine. Women wore never that way in dayly life, not even in the Middle Ages, and even for funerals they wore that way only during ceremonies. And regards mens, they wore a black ribbon on the arm. This women's suit was used only for the funeral, then they wore in black a few months, meanwhile the ribbon men's was required for several month.

@storicus That is right! Old Islamic civilization was based on religion, and this the opinion of western thinkers. While there was no real understanding of real islam in the last centuries because of people, so it was this case. Islam is like a real coin, if you respect it and understand how valuable it is, it will be worth.

@fatatulislam My dear! obviouslly Islam "were" (in past tense) a magnifient civilisation but over 8 centuries ago this civilisation produce NOTHING!!! Is a dead civilisation Where are its inputs to humanity after 13c? where are its big cientists from 14c to 20c? Where your inputs to arts in the last centuries? Where are your big inventions in the modern world (airplain, computers, modern medicine etc? The awakening of one civilisation is not done in one spring but in centuries!

@storicus You can have a look of this youtube films "Golden age of Islam" to know near how was islam in these ages. If islam very underdeveloped religion, why run thousands of people all over the world towards it? Is they ALL underdeveloped, or crazy? Islam is now weak because of science. In the arab world there is a big change: Arabic Spring that leads to Islamic regimes in arab countries. Pls read breaking news! One day we will be this real islam in "golden ages". It is just a matter of time.

In adition is not true what you say that european women wore like day every day,NOT it's not true!! They veiled ther head, only, not their face, except for funerals, not even for marriages.And even like that , as already say, you are sayin that Islam is in the onditions in which we were 8 centuries ago, What a progres!!!!

Can i tell you that the women of farmers in the middle ages wore always veil! that was not folclor but an old christian tradtion from Maria -peace be upon her - she wore always veil, or did not you enter any church? veil is jweish, christian and islamic. the three orders is from one God (Allah))
