@NonnyMus1 Here it wouldn´t be allowed at all. Sidewalk or not. Great Danes are not bred for this and looking at the video it´s far too hot too. This is considered animal cruelty here and forbidden.

@jimw43 Dog carts would *definitely not* be allowed on the sidewalks! In my community, they ticket kids riding bicycles on the sidewalks. I kid you not! In a community with a certain pedestrian density, there is no way the cops would allow it! And pedestrians would use their cell phones to call you in, too!
I don't know if anyone has been prosecuted, but I've never seen dog carts around. I'm going by what the police told me.

@NonnyMus1 Thanks for that. How about dog carts on sidewalks? And has anybody actually been prosecuted for driving a dog on a public road?

@jimw43 Hi Jim, in the past month, I did some research and many communities - including mine - have old laws on the books prohibiting dog carts on the street. It's not at all certain that those old laws won't be enforced. My community's police have indicated they would enforce it, just as they enforce the no-bicycles-on-sidewalks law, because it is perceived as a safety risk. I'm in a densely populated ex-burb of a major east coast city.
Just so you know...

@Esternamornezz "Hideously designed"? Really? Are you by chance a cart designer? Perhaps you might like to post your own design and thereby advance the art to the benefit of dogs and owners alike?
And while you're at it, would you like to define "self compensation" in relation to dog carts?
-
@NonnyMus1 Yes they are. They are in use all over the USA and I - as the manufacturer - have yet to hear of any user being advised to the contrary. Mind you, one user has been twice clocked by police for exceeding the speed limit on a public street, but that is something one can control - with brakes.

@imdaneboe ...or disabled humans who can't afford cars... or humans who have gotten into pulling competitions in dog shows... or humans who are trying to keep their working dogs happy... or humans who are looking into fun alternatives to high gas prices... or humans who are going green... or all of the above...

Do you know if dog carts are street legal in the U.S.?

It is a cart made for dogs and imported here from Austrailia. There are 3 of them, I think, for sale in Southern Calif. I know they ship anywhere.
Look up Regal Dog Sulkies on the web.
