Toyota MR2 Mk1 Silverstone

In-car video of me (15 yrs old) driving our race prepared Mk1 MR2 round Silverstone on a track day for the fist time, just getting to know the track/lines/car. Good bit at around 7:05! Instructor is Ben Elliot from Ben Elliot Racing.

holy shit your lines are garbage for that track and that car, should have way later entries the only way to make a low powered lightweight car like this fast is to never loose too much speed into a corner, which means latter entries and earlier on the throttle

It's the 1.6 Twin Cam N/A engine with a K&N filter. That's all that's been done to it, engine wise. The "strange noise" when shifting is just down to the camera, as when it's revving it doesn't pick up any other noise, but at shifts when there are low revs it picks up more ambient noise.

@mynock05 braking zones are not black and white. if the distance between 2 corners are far, then you'd likely want to brake early for turn 1 and get on the throttle early so that a low power car can carry more momentum on corner exit and carry more speed through to turn 2....

good driving. you need more practice, but it will pay off. these fools on here heckling your lines and speed and everything you do have probably never driven an mk1 MR2 NA. i know the car is touchy and messing up is easy to do with snap oversteer. keep up the good work.
