POWERS: Able to control heat energy and cover his body with fiery plasma for over 16 hours before needing to rest, for about 12 hours. He can release a single "Nova-burst" which strikes with the force of a nuclear warhead. The Torch can create shapes from flame, including letter which burn in the sky for 3 minutes. He can also control the temperature of objects with his mind. Clothing is make of special fire-resistant fabric.

ALLIES: Invisible Woman, the Thing, Mr. Fantastic, Lyja the Laserfist, Alicia Masters, Spider-Man.

FOES: Doctor Doom, Onslaught, Gormuu, Frightful Four, Galactus.

ISSUE #1: When Johnny Storm's sister, Sue, accompanied her finance, Reed Richards, into space, Johnny insisted on tagging along. Transformed in the Human Torch, he battled the Mole Man.

Fantastic Four #4: The Human Torch quits the Fantastic Four. He meets the Sub-Mariner (for the first time since the revival of both characters), who threatens the human race.
