The Director's Cut of Blade Runner was better than the released version. Wonder how it would have turned out if he had more influence on the Deckard character and the movie content? RIP REPLICANT # 1

Love the ending to this, in his early to mid novels Dick is so sarcastic and satirical as well as being forward looking and prophetic its brilliant. 'Thats what I get for calling Zen...' I am one of thjose peope who didn't mind the harrsonford voice over in Bladerunner, in fact I thought it complemented the whole neo-noir aesthetic and bought deckard into line with other detectives of the noir genre. The only mistake was phasing the narration in at the end. It is not needed there. Elsewhere ok.

At this point I feel like the concept of big brother or the police state is outdated. There isn't really any big brother, in the sense that we're all big brother. We're all watching ourselves, and we're all using technology to its fullest extent that is available at this time. We're all plugged in, we're all tuned out, and I'm not sure if it really makes any difference. Something strange is going on, and I can't quite put my finger on it.

"Normal is just a setting on your washing machine."
Thank you for this!! PKD was a modern day prophet. We are living out one of his novels as science fiction becomes science reality...

An insightful documentary about the brilliant and troubled writer Philip K. Dick. I watch my DVD`s of "BladeRunner, Total Recall, Minority Report, Paycheck and A Scanner Darkly" with a whole new respect..That, like Goerge Orwell`s "1984" ( sadly he did´nt call it "2004" )..These writers warned us of " Hi-Tech darkness" that was to come... As we look at our 42 inch plasma TV. Our small lap-top computers..Then out to the streets of seemingly endless surveillance cameras.. "Big Brother"..Watches..
