I don't see this as chauvinistic. It's a nice love story, the point of which being finding a person with who you can synchronise your life pace. As for rape and molesting it's just a possibility, as they tried to beat him up and as he fell. That's the best part for me because she stayed. For better or for worse ;)

Also she could have been just broken down and fallen victim of stockholm syndrome being abused for too long. Made me think - that's art.

Regurgitating big words about how this film is "patriarchal" or "chauvinistic" goes to show that you are probably educated beyond your intelligence and you have an agenda. Your bitching is not "deconstruction". Have a soul for a second. This film is about the violence of love -the juxtaposition of apparent possession and selfless commitment to the upmost well being of another. In this story we see the Other, encountered in a tragic and redemptive way. I dare you to tell a more compelling story.

ah, and by the way, this movie doesn't shows us that the woman is weak, as i said before, it's something deeper than the prejudice that the woman is tied to man..philippe andre has one of a kind, a unique way to express thoughts, to convert them to a movie and how he sees life very different than the way in which our generation looks ... i appreciate him very much

I think you've made a great point in all honesty. And well done for digging up the now obvious meaning for this video. Though beautiful and compelling as this is, there is clearly a very prejudiced idea behind it. And it worries me because I DO think Phillipe Andre is a genius. And that's not the way geniuses should be thinking.
