I mean, I got the part where they hit themselves with the Bibles (or was it pieces of wood?), but not so much this one ;)

@mravantgarde123 At the time of the Black Plague (which is pretty prominent in this movie) there was a group of monks who believed that the plague was a punishment by God, and so they physically punished themselves routinely in an attempt to ward off the plague. That's why there are monks in this movie who hit themselves on the head with bibles and jump into water like here.

The monks are saying "Our Lord Jesus, let them rest," in Latin.
I remember when I showed this to my friend. She laughed her ass of at 0:22 XD
