http://www.bobmintzer.com to purchase "Canyon Cove," which features Bob Mintzer's composition, "Mr. Fonebone." Bob Mintzer, tenor sax; Larry Goldings, organ; Peter Erskine, drums.
This has soooo much talent......oozzzzing all around. !! Love the tone on the organ...Jimmy Smith....chops...Love it. !! Amazing muso's doing there thang'... AWESOME... Got to share this...:)))
@zappr5 That may be true, but certain lines sound much better in a harmonic context. It's hard to convey a strong sense of harmony with just a bass-line happening behind you.
I was very lucky to have "experienced" live Weather Report at Kingsbury Hall and the other jazz festivals in Utah to be able to see Jaco do his magic...in fact, all were magician/innovators of Progressive Jazz....what a cutting edge group all! It took you over and you rode with it! Great memories. Thanks for your work JazzVideoGuy!

I wish more people understood the value of; "No chordal instrument, lots of room", especially players of chordal instruments. Also love Don Martin.
