A Rock/Grunge cover of the Lovin' Spoonful 1966 chart topping song "Summer In The City". All music performed, recorded by Andrew Mason as well as all video and editing. This is the first video I have ever created so I hope you enjoy it. Check out www.myspace.com/andrewmason7775 for additional music.

  • Was looking for the original and couldn't find a good one in stereo other than that one shot of a meter. Watched some of the Cocker versions too. But I must say; I sincerely think you version is much better than Joe's. Hard to top the first, but you're close. Great video too. Andrew, I'm making your vid my Pick of the Week.

  • Thanks alot! It seems people either love this cover or absolutely hate it. I just wanted to see what a rock cover of the song would sound like. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • I love it!!! Fuckin' sexy, man!! You gotta get that out there,I'm tellin' you, that could be a VERY fuckin' big one to watch out for!!! I'm counting on you, man, let me see you and this song on T.V. within the next year!!

...and to BBQFlow, it kinda reminds me of "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone

  • ...and 3:35-3:49! Ahhh...

In its simplicity it's better than good. It's wonderful! I just wish it lasted longer, but doesn't it always feel like good things don't last long enough?

By the way, could anyone tell me what other song that reminds me of? I know it's hard to tell what I'm thinking, but just throw some ideas and it might be IT.

    Thanks YOU, man!

  • The ruff sound hits me!

  • Nothing like the original. Completely original interpretation. Great Job!

Reminds me a bit of what it would have been if Syd Barret or Roger Waters did originally.

Hope you take that as a compliment as it is intended.

  • Dude, this is sweet!!!!!! I'm glad I had the chance to meet you on the DC trip from MHA. I was one of the flute players. You're amazing. Great talent!!!

  • you've got talent mate :)
