It's real. He said he did it because he admired the strong engineering department Chrysler had at the time and because it was in financial turmoil. He did a few other ads but would only do them for american companies.

Awesome post!
I lived down the road on Rt. 123 a few miles from the Armstrong's farm then, I remember when Mr.Armstrong "acquired" a few Chrysler products after this commercial.
He had a farm to run, and he needed various vehicles...Whata' ya' gonna' do?
