  • One of the best opening sequences of any movie. Ever. I'd kill to own one of the gorgeous pantings shown under the credits. I've seen this film a hundred times, and I just now noticed the cat training credit went to "John Holmes." I'll let you make your own "pussy" jokes...

  • Ahhh!!! THank you. I hope that you will be posting the other parts.

    I just finished reading your comment, and all I can write is, " I'm not worthy . . . . I'm not worthy. "

You have hit the nail DEAD on and have written one of the most succinct and ( clearly ) loving tributes to both Poe and Corman, not just here on YouTube but anywhere, in any film guide, within any critique. I only wish to read such personal passion coming from Leonard Maltin ( for example ), my favorite film critic.

    To those about to " shock, ", we salute you . . . .

    You, sir, are my hero.

Imagine owning the original Usher family portaits painted for Corman's " House of Usher " ( 1960 ) --- the adaptation that started Roger Corman on his exPOEdition ?

That's because the industry has been taken-over by these semi-skilled graduates of the MTV school of direction, where you play trickery in the editing room yet haven't a CLUE as to storyboarding, storyline, pacing, honing, suspense.

Somebody made a decision a few years back that the entirety of the movie-going public had suddenly become a thirteen-year-old boy who, after having downed a case of Red Bull, had been locked inside his parents' basement playing video games for 24 hrs

  • now that ladies and gents is how you make a film...like to beat micheal bay witha copy of it.

  • @MrHorrorFan I have spent ages scouring the internet trying to find out who painted them - no joy :(

  • I swear, if Poe were alive and could see the masterful work of both Corman and Price in their many films together, he'd be inspired to create many more works of gothic literature. I know these stories aren't true to to Edgar's work, as I am an appreciate fan of his, but regardless of this, the Corman/Price era is by far my preferred era in cinema. I am a horror fanatic and this time in the genre has no equal.

  • vincent price is the shit

  • I also have never seen this one, and enjoyed watching. Thank you for posting!
