On July 4th Susan Hay, from Global Toronto News, featured Vintage Fitness exercise programs for marginalized seniors. Vintage Fitness (http://www.vintagefitness.ca/charity-classes.aspx/) enhaces the lives of people over 50 with exercise. Fitness can transform people lives and help build strength and stability. In 2007, Vintage Fitness partnered with LOFT Community Services ( http://www.loftcs.org/), dedicated to individuals with complex needs. Loft has noticed that their clients strength and endurance levels have improved, risk factors like falls have decreased and they are more comfortable and feeling more positive about the quality of their life. Fitness assessments done with the group by Erin Billowits, Vintage Fitness owner, show that leg strength increased by 20%, Arm strength increased by 16%, and agility and stability improved. Since 2005 Vintage Fitness has trained over 10000 seniors within the Greater Toronto Area helping them build strength, lose weight and create an exercise plan they can stick to.
