Shirley should've been Oscar nominated for her part in this Dick Brooks film. As the 'well-traveled' Flo, she is terrific as the longtime mistress of the married Lloyd Bridges (also superb).

  • Never knew about this movie. I know Shirley Jones and Lloyd Bridges did a move called "Silent Night, Lonely Night". They used to show it on A&E years ago when it stood for arts and entertainment.

  • @Drillin4Oil Actually, SJ did The Partridge Family a year later in 1970 after this movie if it came out in 1969.

  • move the camera down, dammit!

  • Holy shit! Shirley Jones is so freak'n HOT! I LOVE her body. She has a real woman's body & not some heroine junkie thin body.

  • Lloyd Bridges was one lucky bastard!!!!!

  • Mrs. Partridge was gorgeous!

  • This was the same year she did the Partridge Family pilot. I recognize the hairstyle.

  • I'm glad Shirley didn't get an Oscar nomination for this film. It would have ruined Jean's chances of getting a Best Actress Oscar nomination. I think Shirley ruined Jean's chances of getting an Oscar nomination in 1960 for Elmer Gantry. Jean might have won if she had been nominated for that performance. It was a superb performance. Spellbinding.

  • I agree that Shirley should have gotten a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for this role. She was flawless as "Flo : Mistress with a heart of Gold".. Seriously, Shirley was a wonderful dramatic actress. Remember that made-for-tv movie she did were she played a married woman who was secretly a gambling addict? I think the movie was called "Winner Takes All" or something like that. She was so good in that film which was a little edgier than your average network tv movie of the time.
