SECOND REALITY SPOOF: 14ndreal.exe (90s DOS Graphics Demo)

This is the second of many DOS demos from the 1990s demo scene that I'm going to share via YouTube.

This one is called "14nd Reality," a spoof of "Second Reality," which can be found here:

I believe this was made in 1996 and is obviously a prank / spoof. There are some pretty funny moments and some extremely inside humor within this video. The number 1.4 refers to √2 (the square root of 2).

The demo runs fast -- which I do apologize for (it's running on an AMD K6-3 processor, which I believe was just too fast for the demo .. imagine that).

Also, the demo CRASHES at 4:07, during the "plasma" sequence. In my opinion, this actually enhances the experience of reliving the good 'ole DOS days because .. THIS HAPPENED ALL THE TIME! IRQs .. JUMPERS .. LOW DMA, HIGH DMA .. CONFIG.SYS

if I can run the demo more stable (and at the proper speed) I will try to re-up the video.

Hardware: AMD K6-3 400MHz CPU / DOS 6.22 / Sound Blaster 16 PnP. Captured using Sony's Vegas Pro 8.0 through a Pinnacle 710 USB capture device.

Yeah.. it sucks because I can't seem to avoid it. The demo was made to run on an i80486 processor, and maybe its running on an AMD causes that part to hang.

I'm too lazy to rebuild another DOS computer.

Would it be possible to do a new 2011 update of Second Reality with 24 bit colours and 2d with 3d rendered objects? Also, can the new 2011 Second Reality have extra scenes as well, with new music to go with it?

Demo isn't supposed to crash at that point.

The problem is your CPU being too fast for the TP generated code. So you could either run the demo in DosBox or ... if you wanna run the demo on your K6-3 fix the binary with a tiny patcher called TPPATCH.EXE
