Dr Julian McGlashan from Queens Medical Center in Nottingham presenting a part of a research study made in cooperation with Cathrine Sadolin and Henrik Kjelin from Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen.

The presentation is from Pevoc7 (7th Pan European Voice Conference) in Groningen, August 2007, where a huge interest lead to an improvised change of schedule so this presentation could be repeated for everyone at the conference.

Enjoy :)

CVI Copenhagen

Please note: The word BELTING is replaced by EDGE.
The term 'Belting' is used with different meanings by different singing technique methods. To avoid confusion CVT does not use the term 'Belting' anymore. Since mid 2008 CVt has changed the mode name 'Belting' into 'Edge'.

  • @hfneerd Thank youu :D

  • Dont use the throat. You use your diaphragm (stomach) if ur throat hurts your doing it wrong

  • No, this is not bullshit.

There are today 80 Authorised CVT Teachers who all can teach you this. At CVI we have had more than 900 singers attending longer courses, and I have yet to meet someone who cannot learn it. You can to!

Read the book with step by step guidance, sign up for a course or a solo lesson (skype possible) or take a look at the videos from the youtube channel 'videosfromCVI' where more people demonstrates this technique.

    Best wishes :) Henrik

  • bullshit bullshit and bullshit dude ive been screaming for years... i know alot of bands.. worked with alot... there is no 100% relaxed way to scream... there are ways to make it easy and less hard on yur throat but its always gonna leave your voice abit raspy

  • Yes the CVT book covers all that. When you have read the book - and tried the different sounds out for your self, you might want to get a singing lesson with an Authorized CVT Teacher and ask some questions: "Am I doing this right?", "Can't get that Curbing, what am I doing wrong?" etc...

The CVT book is available in English, German, Dutch, Danish, Swedish and from this week also in Finnish language.

    Best wishes :) Henrik
