  • Great vid - thanks for sharing though i do wish the train that day had cut down the Bellingham Spur. Thanks for posting

  • @brfts2001 BEST GUESS. The NP freight depot in Bellingham still saw freight cars up to about 1970. However, by then those may have come up GN tracks on the Sound and then pulled up the Milwaukee tracks to the depot...seems unlikely but maybe.. But my parents house in Bellingham still heard trains coming down Alabama Hill off Lake Whatcom until the late '60s. So Clear Lake had to still have operations up until then.

  • Wow! Neat footage!

  • Great, EMS! I wonder why the near-stops at stations with clear order boards. Wonderful views, thanks very much for sharing.

  • Very cool video! I used to visit relatives in Clear Lake and still remember that NP truss bridge standing over the Skagit River. Does anyone here know when the line was abandoned? There isn't much trace of the railroad bed through Clear Lake so looks like it's been quite awhile. Inquiring minds would like to know!

  • Fabulous footage! Thanks much!
