@edupbeat You're correct in saying Chicago is very segregated, but I have plenty of white friends who live past 35th and take the train past there everyday. I also find that those "racist bars" on Rush street are very different from how you describe. I went to dinner the other night on Rush street and I saw a very large amount of diversity. You singling out Wrigleyville just adds to the prejudices.  You're a bigger part of the problem by buying into all of the stereotypes.

this is probably the most segregated big city in the country! Til this day, u ride the red line & u KNOW white folks NEVER will ride past 35th street, lol. I hate those racist ass bars on rush street & those fake ass gentrified hoods like Wicker park, Streeterville, etc cause it aint nothing but racist, yuppie, ass white ppl who arent from Chi but call themselves "chicagoans" lol hell, just look at Wrigley field on a summer day, you'd think no black ppl lived here!

Yes 5 years ago Barack Obama was an obscure state senator languishing in the Illinois statehouse. Today, he is President Barack Obama after having raised $750M and crushing the Clinton machine. President Obama is truly a new breed of Black politician. Now what does this post-racial aesthetic portend for the Black community only time will tell. Obama makes white folks feel comfortable as evidenced by his continous love for bigot Abraham Lincoln.
