Richard Avedon traveled the globe with a canvas tent and photographed ordinary people with this lighted, diffused background. He then photographed models wearing a white t shirt in front of a white wall (shallow space, static composition) to prove a point... that photography and it's inherent beauty is in the model, not the photograph. Helmut Newton used arguably the lowest class of camera destined for photography classes, yet was Vogue magazines most prolific photographer. Sandy uses a 200 dollar point and shoot cannon that an ordianary tourist might use. For her white roses photography show she places models in static positions, wearing a white shirt, holding roses.
