  • This is so beautiful. I don't hear a mezzo singing... it's a beautiful soprano sound!

    I also love the tempo. I can't stand it when it's done too fast— you can't hear the gorgeous 7ths of the accompanying music.

  • words like "nice" shouldn't have a dipthong if you are singing them in the floyd style (southern american).nice = [nas] myslef = [ma 'self].

    Susannah is a country bumpkin, without parents, depending on her brother Sam for food and protection. Your diction should reflect Floyd's intent for libretto. I mean, Floyd even wrote in the apostrophes for little bat's part so that the singer would understand the twang.

    Holy space! you've got a great sound!

  • Great voice -- lots of talent. I don't find your lower register too dark as some have said on here. The only critical thing I could say is that I feel like there are spots that are too rushed...and just need more time and a bit more "relaxed" metronomically. I'd love to coach you on this piece. You have a big talent!

  • the darkness of her sound reminds me of renee fleming's voice. And she's a definite soprano.

    Beautiful job =)

  • So musical!!!!! No one can teach you that! I come to listen to this often, over and over. You make me proud Laura. Hold your head up high and sing with your heart.

  • She is a very beautiful soprano, very expressive,

    but I think great arias should be done later;

    to let the voice rest.

  • Could anyone post the lyrics to this aria? I've scoured the internet and haven't found them.

  • I really wish I could coach you on this aria... I see so many things that would take this from really good to glorious..

  • She's not a mezzo.. this is a soprano aria, very much so... She is just a bit too dark in the lower registers. The upper would expand if things weren't so dark.

  • glorious voice
