This is a batch of 7 Bridges Red Ale, two days after pitching the yeast. It's kind of gross looking. This particular ale took about two days to start primary fermentation.Flickr photosethttp://www.flickr.com/photos/brimley/sets/72157600715113070/

i have never done it in a glass vessel like that.
is that a carboy, i use the traditional fermenter.
oh when i make beer i mix it with the paddle, when i have made the brew extract kit.
i found when i put the mixing paddle into the chuck of the cordless drill it mixes it like crazy.
it starts fermenting like in a few hrs, maybe its because it mixes lots of oxygen into it at the start.
