This is a home built Hackintosh machine I made. Here is a list of the hardware;

Gigabyte P55A-UD4P
Intel i7-860 2.8Ghz (8mb cache)
GeForce 8400 GS 512MB
8GB Kingston DDR 3 Memory (4 sticks total)
Gear Head 24x DVD +/-R SATA Drive
Thermaltake TR2 RX 650W Power Supply

I used an existing case and SATA hard drive.

Total cost was just over $900.

Many thanks need to go to ;

I forgot to mention that with this build I have no audio with the onboard sound. Due to a change Apple made in 10.6.3. I am temporarily using my M-Audio Pro I/O as a sound card. This should be resolved soon.

I will add more notes here as I think of them.

If you would like a video tutorial, please comment.

  • do u needa sata? what if u dont use one?

  • @SuperDbzmaster Yes you need SATA. There is a way to do it with IDE, but I do not know how.

  • Got a question for you i am using a MSI mobo p55-cd55 with intel i5 750 but i cant get to install like yours. I have to go into safe mode to even begin the installation process. and once it is finish and it restarts i get this black screen with weird grayish blocks. Should i just get a gigaybyte mobo? Also i am using a HSI Radeon HD 4670 1gb ddr3. is there problems with ddr3 video cards?

  • @MIT2004

    There are issues with ATI chips. Some of those issues have been resolved. You should post this on the forum.
