5x5x5 LED Cube with a few Simple Animations

Sorry for the bad quality, I just wanted a video up for my channel :P

This is the first 5x5x5 LED I have made. I will try making a better video that is edited, and in a darker room. I will also make another video when I get the cube and all of the other components are on a perfboard.

materials used:
- 125 blue 5mm LEDs
- 1 PIC18f4620
- 5 NPN transistors
- 5 1K resistors
- 25 470ohm resistors (will change to 220ohm, so that LEDs are brighter)
- 1 crystal and 1 5V regulator

This cube took about 1 week to build and the code took about 2 days (I will try making more animations when I get everything onto a perfboard), but the planning took a few months. I used 30 pins for the Cube on the PIC18f4620 microcontroller, but I left 3 pins so that I can get a push button working, and 2 analog pins for audio.

I'm am thinking about making a 4x4x4 RGB LED cube, and a 10x10x10 LED cube (thats 1000 LEDs!!!!).

did you use low current leds? has it or have you planned serial or usb connection to pc?

@drjames the LEDs run at 15mA, and i wont be adding serial or usb connection to a pc

@auranYT if u can build something like that with multi colour capable u have a sale lol or even just blue but as long as it does things like tear drop affects
