@martinzopetazo Because that's what it is. It's a competition about better grades and thus about better opportunities on the job market. On the other hand life is all about unfairness, what all these people bitching about taking stimulants should have realized. Also drugs like these wont make you smarter, they only enable you to work long hours without having to deal with any distractions, so all the info about them raising your IQ is BS.

We know the concequences of acohol and tobacco - they are well established. It seems there aren't many studies or information of the long term effects of modafinil. Also, the companies that sell modafinil online are usually based in India and you can't be sure if what they supply is over 99% pure.

In my experience, Modafinil does not really help for fighting sleep. I tend to feel a bit more pepped up, but that's basically it. I still need my minimum of eight hours sleep every day.

I have a better question for society: why is it I can buy alcohol over the counter, even though it's a known poison to humans, causes cognitive decline and has serious adverse effects? Why can I buy cigerettes over the counter even though they are a known carcinogen that kill millions every year?
I think society should rethink itself, because it's bullsh** that people have to jump through hoops in order to take cognitive enhancers that make them more productive members of society.
